The Austrian Ice Hockey Federation is responding to the current situation by providing special bonus material to all ice hockey coaches who have obtained a valid licence for the current season. To lend a helping hand in their day-to-day coaching work at their clubs, the ÖEHV has organised and compiled dedicated coaching apps that all licensed ice hockey coaches can use without restriction.

With the Microsoft Teams app, coaches gain access to all presentations and data from the most recent coaching courses – including those from the coaching education cooperation partner, BSPA Wien – and ÖEHV further education events, such as Coaches Clinics, the basic goaltending course or strength assessment training. Contributions on a wide range of topics are available, from A for athletic training to Z for collaboration.

Coaches also have access to the Hockey Coach Vision app, which contains an extensive collection of ice hockey drills. Among other things, the app includes drills from the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation – also in animated form. The data and animations are being continuously expanded by the ÖEHV.

"We are delighted if these apps can support our coaches in their training with male and female players," says Gerold Maier, who shares responsibility for coach education within the ÖEHV and compiled the information tools together with the three Regional Development Coaches (RET), Florian Mühlstein, Benedikt Schennach and Diethard Winzig.

"Over the coming months, we will provide further impetus for our coach education, aimed among other things at improving and intensifying cooperation throughout the German-speaking region. Establishing knowledge transfer between the individual nations is an important component of our coaches' education," adds Sporting Director Roger Bader.
