Para hockey now incorporated into coach education
In cooperation with the Austrian Sports Association for the Disabled (ÖBSV), special para hockey modules are being incorporated into B-licence coach education for the first time. Theoretical and practical sessions cover the specific aspects of the discipline, while participants learn and try out how to use the sled.

The theoretical sessions are led by experts such as Libor Fischer, who teaches coaches about the specific challenges and approaches in disability sport. Lucas Herrnegger, coach of the Para Team, is also involved in the programme, leading a theoretical session and taking to the ice with the coaches to carry out practical exercises.
In future, B-licence education will include a total of four modules from the ÖBSV, as well as one theoretical and one practical para hockey session from the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation (ÖEHV).
The course was held in this new format for the first time on 23 May in Salzburg. Lucas Herrnegger was enthusiastic: “Integrating para sport into coach education is a great initiative.”

It is an important step in the continued development of the sport. "
A total of 16 participants took part in this year's programme and completed it successfully.
