Marco Rossi records two more assists in Wild’s first defeat

Marco Rossi recorded two more assists in the Minnesota Wild’s first preseason defeat against the St. Louis Blues. The 21-year-old from Vorarlberg now has six points (one goal, five assists).

Pavel Buchnevich, Jake Neighbours and Nathan Walker gave the Blues a 3:0 lead at St. Louis’ Enterprise Center over the opening two periods, before the Minnesota Wild reduced the deficit to 1:3 through Mason Shaw in minute 47 of the third period. Marco Rossi fired a fierce wrist shot at the Blues’ goal and Shaw converted the rebound.

Klim Kostin made it 4:1 for the hosts. Tyson Jost completed the scoring for 2:4 41 seconds before the end, with ÖEHV forward Rossi setting up the goal with his second assist. 

The centre was on the ice for Minnesota for a total of 21:16 minutes – including 4:31 minutes on the power play and 3:16 minutes on the penalty kill. It was his club’s first defeat after four preseason wins.
