Zell am See win Alps Hockey League derby at Adler Kitzbühel

In the derby, Zeller Eisbären produced a cohesive team performance and secured their place in the Austrian Championship final with a 4:1 away win. After Hochfilzer gave Kitzbühel an early lead, Jennes equalised in the first period in front of more than 1.300 fans. The reigning AHL champions stepped up a gear in the final period: Wilfan, Widen and Jennes again scored to seal a convincing victory. Goaltender Alexander Schmidt impressed with a strong performance, while returning players Coffman and Widhalm provided important impetus. The win lifted Eisbären to third place in the standings.


After three consecutive defeats, EC Bregenzerwald returned to winning ways in impressive fashion. In front of more than 1.500 fans, the Vorarlberg side laid the foundations for victory in the first period, which they won 4:1. Toivo Laaksonen shone with two goals in the opening 20 minutes. The home side extended their lead further in the middle period, with Lipsbergs scoring on the power play to make it 6:1. The visitors from South Tyrol did pull one back, but that was all they could manage on the night. ECB, who remain in sixth place, thus avenged their defeat in the first meeting of the season.


Rittner Buam SkyAlps comfortably won the South Tyrol derby in Merano. Goals from Crespi, Welychka and Alderson had Ritten 3:0 ahead after two periods. The visitors remained in control in the final period, as Welychka made it 4:0 with a shot from behind the goal. After brief moments of hope for Merano through Marinovich and Stefanson (2:4), Alderson restored a clear margin late on with the final score of 5:2. Goaltender Colin Furlong was among the match winners, repeatedly frustrating Merano with fine saves.


In their first game in Pieve di Cadore – Cortina's home arena is currently unavailable due to the upcoming Olympic Games – the blue-and-whites celebrated their third consecutive win. The visitors initially took the lead, but Head Coach Gaber Glavic's team turned the game around in the first period. At the start of the middle period, the Cavaliers turned the tide again with two power-play goals. Talamini equalised in the 38th minute before Massimo Pietroniro sealed the home win with his second goal of the evening on the power play in the final period.
