YOG: Austria remain unbeaten

Austria were involved in a hard-fought battle with Kazakhstan, in which they were extremely error-prone. However, the two goaltenders, Martin Haim and Gabriel Lemberger, rose to the occasion and saved the game for Austria.

"We definitely did not play the way we wanted to play. Our goaltenders did a tremendous job. Without the two of them, it could have ended badly. We can still see progress. But it is not the ice hockey we want to play. It is good that we have had a game like this now. Three points are three points at the end of the day. You still have to win a game like this first," said Head Coach Florian Mühlstein, relieved.

The Carinthian had reason to beam in the afternoon local time after his players recorded a 18:1 rout of Chinese Taipei: "There were good things that we changed from the morning until now."

The next opponents on Monday are Spain and Latvia.
