Women work on skills and tactics in St. Pölten
The Women’s National Team will remain in St. Pölten until and including Sunday for an intensive skills and tactical team camp. They have deliberately opted against playing any test matches in order to focus on the details.

“At most team camps, there is little to no time to work on certain details because of the upcoming matches. That is why we deliberately decided against test matches during the December break, so that we could focus entirely on ourselves,” explains General Manager Martin Kogler.
24 players have gathered in St. Pölten, including six overseas-based players, although PWHL standouts Anna Meixner and Theresa Schafzahl are absent.
“We are using this team camp to assess these players and at the same time familiarise them with our playing system. We have also called up players who were not involved in November. The U18 players are with their age group in Füssen (GER). We deliberately want to keep the squad large in order to build depth and be able to go full throttle in training sessions,” says Kogler.
Work is being done on both individual skills and tactics. The next gathering in the new year will be the direct preparation for the Olympic qualification tournament, which will take place from 6 to 9 February in Bremerhaven (GER). The opponents there will be hosts Germany, Hungary and a qualifier.
