Women’s World Cham­pi­onship Divi­sion IA in Klagen­furt: Secure your tickets now!

After 2009 and 2017, Austria is once again hosting a Women’s World Championship Division IA. On 21 April 2017, Austria’s women concluded the home World Championship in Graz at the time with a 6:1 win over Denmark. Exactly seven years later, they will open the third World Championship Division IA on Austrian ice against Norway. In 2024, they aim to achieve what Anna Meixner & Co. have narrowly missed out on in recent years: promotion to the Top Division.

Antonia Matzka, Theresa Schafzahl, Anna Meixner, Annika Fazokas, Tamara Grascher and Charlotte Wittich are six players in the 2024 squad who know the feeling of a home World Championship from 2017.

“I think the biggest advantage this year will be the sixth player on the ice, in the form of the spectators who are behind us,” emphasises Anna Meixner the advantage of playing in front of a home crowd.

2024 IIHF Ice Hockey Women´s World Championship 2024

From 21 to 27 April 2024, Klagenfurt will host the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey Women´s World Championship 2024. Austria will face Hungary, France, Norway, the Netherlands and South Korea for promotion to the Top Division. Following 2009 and 2017, it is the third Women’s World Championship on Austrian ice.
