Women’s National Team: Austria lose second test against Germany too 0:2

Austria’s women’s national ice hockey team were also beaten by Germany in the second test. Our neighbours, who are fine-tuning their Olympic squad, were statistically superior, but the ÖEHV selection kept the game open until the final whistle. “We played solid defence and showed fighting spirit. Of course, we would have liked to create more chances, but we must not forget that we played against a team looking to finalise its Olympic squad. We had many new players with us and saw what we need to work on. We need to learn, adapt our game and find ways to beat nations such as Germany,” summed up Head Coach Alexander Bröms.

Head Coach Alexander Bröms: “We are looking ahead to the Top Division World Championship in a year’s time. To that end, we fielded several debutants this weekend and used the December break to broaden our squad with regard to the World Championship.”
