“After the defeat to Italy, the players wanted to show a response and were determined to end the team camp with a win. They did that. The team performance was far better than against Italy,”General Manager Martin Kogler said with satisfaction.

Austria initially conceded to make it 0:1 in the 6th minute following a scramble in front of their own net, but shortly afterwards the youngsters in the team turned the game around.

In the 9th minute, Emma Lintner scored her first goal for the national team to make it 1:1, before Vanessa Picka, also scoring her first national-team goal, made it 2:1 shortly afterwards. Lena Dauböck extended the lead to 3:1 before the break.

The Royals kept the game open until the middle of the second period, before the Austrians stepped up a gear and headed to the dressing room with a 5:1 lead – Lena Artner making it 4:1 in the 35th minute, followed by Tamina Schall making it 5:1 in the 40th minute.

In the final period, Austria allowed hardly anything in their own zone, while Emma Lintner completed the scoring at 6:1.
