Women lose World Cham­pi­onship warm-up against Denmark 2:3 in over­time

Austria's women's national ice hockey team has been in Shenzhen (CHN) since Sunday, completing its final preparations for the World Championship Division IA, which begins on Sunday with the clash against Norway. On Thursday, the team played its final friendly against Denmark, losing 2:3 in overtime. Anja Trummer and Anna Meixner scored the goals.

“We started the game well and played a strong first period, during which we put Denmark under a lot of pressure. Perhaps we were already too satisfied with that and handed control to the Scandinavians in the second period. We produced a strong finish in the final period and managed to equalise,” summarisedHead Coach Alexander Bröms.

They will have the opportunity for revenge on the second matchday of the World Championship Division IA. The campaign begins on Sunday against Norway, with the Netherlands, China and Slovakia the remaining opponents. The first three World Championship games will be broadcast live on LIVE.eishockey.at, while the matches against China and Slovakia will be shown on ORF SPORT +.
