win2day ICE Hockey League schedule 2025/2026: It all gets under way on 12 September!

The new win2day ICE Hockey League season gets under way on Friday, 12 September 2025. With the exception of Moser Medical Graz99ers, all other twelve teams will be in action on opening day. The highlight of the opening matchday is the repeat of the semi-final between HCB Südtirol Alperia and EC Red Bull Salzburg.

Just two days later, there will be the first repeat of the final between defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg and EC-KAC – the game will be shown live on ORF 1 for the first time.

The first Carinthian derby between EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and EC-KAC is scheduled for 14 November. On the same day, the first Hungarian derby in league history will also take place, when Hydro Fehérvár AV19 face league newcomers FTC-Telekom Budapest.

The first South Tyrol derby of the new campaign between HC Falkensteiner Pustertal and HCB Südtirol Alperia will be played on 10 October. The Pioneers Vorarlberg and HC TIWAG Innsbruck will face each other in the first Western derby of the season as early as the second matchday.

Four regular season games live on ORF 1

In the coming season, the win2day ICE Hockey League will be broadcast live on ORF 1 for the first time. Four regular season games will be shown live there, while selected fixtures will also be broadcast on ORF Sport+. Austrian Broadcasting will also show numerous games live during the playoffs.

From the 2025/26 season, all games will be shown by the new streaming partner Sportdeutschland.TV. The established platform, which has more than ten years of experience in live sports streaming, will take the ICE experience for fans to the next level. The partnership includes structured measures to support clubs in streaming and signal production, as well as the production of all game highlights and additional editorial content, particularly content for social media.

Format

The format remains unchanged: the regular season comprises two home-and-away rounds, with a total of 48 games per team. This means a total of 312 games are scheduled, with each team facing every other team four times. Teams finishing between first and sixth place qualify directly for the quarter-finals. Teams finishing seventh to tenth contest the pre-playoffs in a “best of 3” format. The two winners complete the quarter-final line-up. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played in the usual “best of 7” format. The win2day ICE Hockey League champion will be decided no later than Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
