In the win2day Austrian Women´s Hockey League, Sabres St. Pölten and DEC Salzburg Eagles were victorious in front of their home fans on Friday. While the Sabres defeated EC Graz Huskies 5:2, the Eagles prevailed 2:1 against Lakers Kärnten.

For Sabres St. Pölten, it was their second win in their second game of the win2day Austrian Women´s Hockey League. The Lower Austrians are second in the table with six points. EC Graz Huskies have already played five times and have won only one game so far.
With three points, they are fourth in the table. The hosts from St. Pölten took the lead after just 25 seconds on Friday evening. They then had to wait until the 29th minute to extend their lead to 2:0. By the 44th minute, the Sabres had increased their advantage to 5:0. The visitors’ two goals came only 119 and 55 seconds before the end of the game, respectively.
First win of the season for Eagles
The DEC Salzburg Eagles celebrated a 2:1 home win against Lakers Kärnten, as the fifth-placed team recorded their first victory in their second win2day Austrian Women´s Hockey League game of the season.
For the Lakers, meanwhile, it was their second defeat in five games. The Carinthians are third in the table. They conceded the opening goal against the Eagles in the 24th minute, before the hosts increased their lead to 2:0 in the 51st minute and the Carinthians pulled one back shortly afterwards. However, they were unable to find an equaliser.
