win2day AWHL: First double-header weekend and debut for Salzburg Eagles

The win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League is in full swing. On Saturday, the DEC Salzburg Eagles will become the last of the five Austrian teams to enter the newly created league. The Eagles travel to EC Graz Huskies, who made their AWHL debut last weekend but are still waiting for their first goal.

They suffered a 0:3 defeat away to Lakers Kärnten. In front of their home crowd, the Styrians will now be looking to score their first goal and claim their first points.

On Sunday, Lakers Kärnten in the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey LeagueKSV Highlanders in the win__OEHV_NUM_K_A__day Austrian Women’s Hockey League. While the Carinthians celebrated victory in their AWHL debut, the Highlanders lost away to Sabres St. Pölten.

European Women’s Hockey League

In addition to the two win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League games, which also count towards the European Women’s Hockey League standings, three EWHL-only games will take place. On Friday evening, Sabres St. Pölten hosted HK PSRZ Bratislava, with the Slovak side winning the game 3:2 after overtime after the Sabres had led 2:0 following the first period. 

On Saturday, Hungarian representatives MAC Budapest travel to the capital of Lower Austria. The intensive weekend of women’s ice hockey concludes on Sunday with the game between MAC Budapest and Budapest Jegkorong Akademia.
