The Highlanders from Kapfenberg delivered a dominant performance from the outset and decided the game early in their favour. Gentilini, Dijkema and Dauböck gave them a 3:0 lead in the opening period, laying the foundations for the convincing home win. Confidenti and Kantorova extended the advantage to 5:0 as the game progressed.

The Styrians impressed both offensively and defensively – 52 shots on goal and a shutout underlined the Highlanders’ superiority. With this win, Head Coach David Picka’s team consolidated fifth place in the EWHL and moved closer to AWHL leaders Sabres St. Pölten.

In Graz, Graz99ers Huskies and DEC Salzburg Eagles contested a hard-fought duel. The Salzburg side laid the foundations for the away win with two goals in the opening period, while the Styrians pulled one back through a Rothenwald goal in the middle period.

Despite a sustained spell of pressure in the final period, the hosts were unable to add another goal. The Eagles therefore took home three important points and improved their position in both the EWHL and the national standings.
