On Saturday, the team led by Head Coach Tomas Kala claimed a 2:1 victory over their neighbours. Hanna Pap (16th minute) and Emma Lintner (26th minute) gave them a 2:0 lead before Germany pulled one back to make it 1:2 just after the halfway point of the game.

In Sunday’s matinee in the Bavarian town of Füssen, Germany took a 1:0 lead in the first period, before Hanna Pap levelled the score at 1:1 59 seconds before the first siren (20th minute). The hosts stepped up a gear in the middle period, scoring three times in just under five minutes between the 29th and 33th minutes to pull away to 4:1.

In the final period, Emma Lintner pulled one back for Austria to make it 2:4 (52th minute). The Austrians took some consolation from winning the final period 1:0, but were unable to turn the game around.
