Wimmer, Würschl and Söllinger called up for Deutschland Cup

Head Coach Roger Bader has made three additional call-ups for this week's Deutschland Cup. Philipp Wimmer and Niklas Würschl are two players who took to the ice in Landshut (GER) last year. It will be a first for Patrick Söllinger.

“We are proud to be taking part in this traditional tournament for the third time. Once again, we want to show and prove that we were rightly invited. We want to lay the foundations for being part of the Deutschland Cup again next year,” explains Roger Bader on the objectives for Austria's third appearance in the 35th edition of the prestigious tournament.

Philipp Wimmer, Niklas Würschl and Patrick Söllinger have been called up to replace absentees, with all three already having experience at international level. Wimmer and Würschl are also familiar with the atmosphere in Landshut from last year. The former was also part of the World Championship squads in 2022 and 2023 in Tampere (FIN).

Head Coach Roger Bader: “This tournament is very valuable for us. Games against strong opponents are a good benchmark for player assessment with a view to the World Championship. In addition to day-to-day league action, it gives us an additional picture of the players.”
