USA 1 win the Inter­na­tional Ice Hockey Chal­lenge / AUT Red finish in 4th place

It was an evenly matched final of the highest international standard. Both teams registered 29 shots, with USA 1 winning the first period 2:1, before USA 2 responded with a 2:1 second period. Angelo Spadaccini initially made it 4:3 with his second goal in the 43th minute. Five minutes later, Lucas Gero scored the decisive goal to make it 5:3. USA 2 reduced the deficit to 4:5 on the power play just under seven minutes before the end of the game and threw everything forward in search of an equaliser. However, their US counterparts at the other end defended effectively, created chances of their own and ultimately sealed the tournament title with the 5:4 victory.

EC KAC claim bronze

EC KAC joined the two US teams on the podium. The young Red Jackets found themselves 0:2 behind against Austria Red in the first period. The important goal to reduce the deficit to 1:2 came one minute before the break. Maks Tolar and Fraser Vospernik eventually completed the turnaround in the middle period.

In the game for 5th place, the LHD All Stars celebrated an 8:3 victory over Austria White, thanks to a scintillating second period.
