U20 National Team begins World Cham­pi­onship count­down at Four Nations Tour­na­ment in Stavanger

Following a short training camp at the Red Bull Akademie in Liefering, the U20 team travelled to Norway for a Four Nations Tournament. From 30 November, Red-White-Red will then complete its final preparations for the U20 World Championship Division IA, which will be held from 7 to 13 December 2025 in Bled (SLO), at the HTC Eishalle in Ferlach.

At the World Championship in Slovenia, the ÖEHV selection will face Kazakhstan, Norway, hosts Slovenia, France and Ukraine. "We need to be exceptionally well prepared again," explains Head Coach Philipp Pinter. 

The tournament in Norway comes at just the right time. Latvia and Denmark, two nations from the Top Division, are also taking part, while hosts Norway were relegated from the Top Division two years ago and, like Austria, want to return to the world's top ten nations. The games will be played in picturesque Stavanger – famous for its Gamle Stavanger old town by the harbour – at the DNB Arena, home of the Stavanger Oilers during the regular season. 

Austria's U20 Men's Ice Hockey National Team finished second behind Denmark at the U20 World Championship Division IA in Bled in 2024 and ultimately missed out on promotion by a single goal. After four wins, the ÖEHV selection lost 4:5 to the Scandinavians in the decisive match.
