Ian Scherzer gave the ÖEHV side an early 1:0 lead (4th minute). Norway equalised at 1:1 in the opening period and took the lead for the first time in the second. Austria were unable to turn the game around and eventually lost 1:2.
Philipp Pinter, U20 Head Coach: "It was the tough game we expected today. The Norwegians have a very good team and appear to have an excellent age group. That was particularly evident in the first period, when we were under heavy pressure at times. Nevertheless, we took a 1:0 lead on the power play, but shortly before the end of the first period we conceded the equaliser through an individual mistake. The boys fought until the end. Regardless of the result, it was a good start to the tournament. Denmark await tomorrow, it will not get any easier, but we will also be able to raise our game another notch."
