U18 Women suffer clear defeat to Norway in second Skien test
For Austria’s U18 women’s national ice hockey team, the IIHF break marked the start of the countdown to the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship, Division I, Group A, which will take place in Budapest (HUN) from 05 to 11 January 2025. The ÖEHV side lost the second test against hosts Norway in Skien 1:6. On Friday, the team coached by Head Coach Mario Bellina had lost 0:2 to the Norwegians.

In the first period, Austria stood up well to the strong Norwegians and looked more compact than the previous day. The ÖEHV side, with Lara Reisinger in goal, had more shots on goal in the first period than the day before and kept the match open. Edle Rise Moe gave Norway the lead.
In the second period, the hosts scored four unanswered goals to pull clear at 5:0, and the match was decided after 40 minutes. Just under two minutes into the final period, Hana Ostadal scored the consolation goal to make it 1:5 (43rd minute). Norway added another goal late on to seal a clear 6:1 victory.
Norway will be one of Austria’s opponents at the World Championship in Budapest in early January, alongside Germany, Italy, Hungary and France.
