U18 national team loses to Hungary in Jesenice
Austria’s U18 men’s ice hockey national team is competing in a Four Nations Tournament in Bled and Jesenice during the November international break. After losing the opener against their Italian counterparts 2:3 in a penalty shootout, the ÖEHV side lost its second game of the tournament in Jesenice against Hungary 1:5.

The team led by head coach Mathias Lange – U18 head coach Philipp Pinter is in Denmark with the U20 side – made a dream start against Hungary in the Slovenian steel city. Luis Völlger (3) gave Austria a 1:0 lead after just over two minutes (3).
Hungary used a power play to equalise in the first period. In the second period, Hungary took control and extended its lead to 3:1 with two further power-play goals. Their Hungarian counterparts added another two goals in the final period and eventually celebrated a 5:1 victory.
