U18 left Gjovik without a win
The countdown to the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division I, Group B in Bled, Slovenia, in April began for Austria's U18 national team with the Four Nations Tournament in Norway.

Head Coach Philipp Pinter and his team faced Denmark, Norway and Latvia at the Four Nations Tournament in Gjovik, located around 45 kilometres south of Lillehammer on Lake Mjosa. All three nations currently play in higher divisions: Norway and Latvia will compete in the World Championship top division in Switzerland at the end of April, while Denmark are currently represented in Division I, Group A and will play their World Championship in France in April.
Austria's U18 put up a strong fight, losing to Norway and Latvia by just one goal. Only against Denmark were they beaten in the opening period, after falling 0:3 behind.
