U18 and senior national team prepare for the new season in Maria Alm
It has been a tradition for more than 15 years – the off-ice camp for the women’s and U18 national teams in Maria Alm. It already marks the start of the new season, which has a particular highlight in store with the Women’s World Championship in the top division.

“If we want to hold our own in the top division, then we need to be in peak physical condition. That means we have to do more in the summer than we ever have before,” stressed Head Coach Alexander Bröms during the team camp.
The focus was on off-ice training sessions, as well as individual and team meetings in preparation for the new season. After all, the summer provides the foundation.
Together with Leistungssport Austria, various tests were also carried out at the start. Around 50 players gathered in Maria Alm, while the players based abroad were given a break.
Alongside Alexander Bröms and two off-ice coaches, the players also worked intensively with mental coach Brigitte Furlani.
After the successful weekend, it was Alexander Bröms’ journey home of all things that proved difficult. The Head Coach’s flight home from Salzburg was cancelled, extending his journey home to around 24 hours. However, this did nothing to dampen the Swede’s good spirits.
