U17 men fall 0:3 to Slovenia's U18
Austria's U17 men's national team is already preparing for the European Youth Olympic Festival next February and will play two friendlies against Slovenia's U18 in Ferlach. Despite a good performance, they were beaten 0:3 on Friday evening. Game 2 follows on Saturday at 13:00.

The only shortcoming in Austria's game was their finishing. They matched Slovenia throughout all 60 minutes. The 0:1 came in the 13th minute. They were unable to use their only power play towards the end of the second period to equalise.
Instead, they fell 0:2 behind from the 49th minute onwards and pulled the goaltender towards the end of the game, which Slovenia used to score an empty-net goal in the 59th minute for the final score of 0:3.
Head Coach Peter Schweda: "Despite the result, I am satisfied. The boys gave it everything and implemented the things from training well. We only fell short in terms of scoring; otherwise, we could even have won the game. But these games are particularly important for selecting the final squad for the EYOF."
