U17 heads into exciting semi-finals – Vienna Capi­tals vs EC KAC gets the U15 final under way

The ÖEHV youth leagues are entering their decisive stages! The U17 teams begin their semi-final series this weekend. KAC face the Vienna Capitals, while VSV take on the Eishockey Akademie Steiermark. The U15 final is already under way. KAC and the Vienna Capitals are playing for the title. The U13 is also getting its semi-finals under way. The U20 playoffs are also in full swing, while the U18i final is already being played.

U20:

Red Bull Salzburg lead the "best-of-five" series against the Eishockey Akademie Steiermark 2:0, and Salzburg could secure their place in the final away from home as early as this Friday, from 18:45.

The second semi-final series between the Nordic Hockey Academy, who are based in Ferlach, and the Vienna Capitals is level at 1:1.

After two games in Carinthia, two games now follow in Vienna, on Saturday, 11th March from 12:50, and on Sunday, 12th March from 14:20.

U18i:

The EC KAC are playing in the final against Ujpesti Jegkong Akademia. After the first two games in Klagenfurt, the "best-of-five" series is level at 1:1.

The final now moves to Hungary, where the third game takes place on Saturday, 11th March from 18:35, and the fourth game on Sunday, 12th March, also from 18:35.

U17: Who will advance to the final?

Then there were only four left. The first semi-final in the ÖEHV U17 will be contested by the EC KAC and the Vienna Capitals.

The Red Jackets comfortably won their best-of-three quarter-final series against Okanagan Hockey Academy White 2:0, while Vienna's young players also celebrated an untroubled 2:0 series win over Okanagan Hockey Academy Red's second team.

The semi-final clash begins on Saturday, 11 March at 15:15 in Klagenfurt. The second match will take place a day later, on Sunday, 12 March at 13:00, also in the Carinthian capital. Should a decisive third game be required, the series will move to Vienna on Tuesday, 14 March. 

The Eishockey Akademie Steiermark and EC VSV will meet in the second semi-final. The Styrians secured their place in the semi-finals with a 2:0 series win over Eishockey Akademie Oberösterreich in the quarter-finals, while Villach prevailed 2:0 against HC Innsbruck.

The first two games will take place in Graz on Saturday, 11 March and Sunday, 12 March. Should a deciding game be required, the series will move to Villach for Tuesday, 14 March.

U15: KAC and Vienna Capitals in the final

A final series between EC KAC and the Vienna Capitals has developed into a classic not only in adult ice hockey; a final clash between the youth teams is no less exciting.

Klagenfurt had prevailed 2:0 over EHC Lustenau in their best-of-three quarter-final series, followed by a 2:0 win over EC VSV in the Carinthian derby. 

The Vienna-based side recorded two emphatic wins against HC Innsbruck in the quarter-finals, before reaching the final with a 2:0 win over the Okanagan Hockey Academy / Lower Austria Stars joint team. The final will be played in a best-of-five format.

The first two games will take place in Vienna on Saturday, 11 March at 15:35 and Sunday, 12 March at 11:05, before the final series moves to Klagenfurt the following weekend.

U13: Exciting semi-final clashes

It is not only the Carinthian derby in the win2day ICE Hockey League quarter-finals that is generating excitement; at U13 level, VSV Blau will also face KAC in the semi-finals. The first two games of the "Best-of-Three" series will take place in Villach on Saturday, 11 March, and Sunday, 12 March.

In the second semi-final, Graz99ers Juniors will face Vienna Capitals Schwarz. The first two games will take place in Graz on Saturday and Sunday, with a potential deciding game to be held in Vienna on Tuesday, 14 March.
