The team had waited two long years for these two days. Due to Covid, no international match had been played since February 2020. This made the anticipation for the two friendlies against Slovakia all the greater.
"A very strong opponent," as Head Coach Mario Bellina stresses. The results were 0:4 and 4:7, although they were not the main focus. Mario Bellina: "They were two really good games in which we were able to use the entire team. It was important to me that we could finally try out some things in a game that we had previously practised in training. That is why the result was not the most important thing for us. And I am very satisfied with the performance of our players."
Training sessions were scheduled from Wednesday to Friday, followed by the two friendly matches on Saturday and Sunday. They now hope that the traditional European Cup in Hungary can be held again this spring after a two-year break as well.
