Following two narrow defeats against Norway and Denmark, the U20 national team rounded off the Four Nations tournament in Vojens with a 6:5 overtime win over Latvia, who competed at the tournament with a U18 team.

U20 head coach Philipp Pinter: "We were clearly inferior in the first period and were fortunate to go into the dressing room at 1:1. We also made too many mistakes in the second period and were not disciplined enough overall. It was only in the final period that the players showed the same bite they had in the previous games. We got a lot of pucks to the net and the boys created traffic in front of goal. Although they were constantly chasing the game, they grew together. It was very pleasing for us coaches to see them take the game into overtime, where Lanzinger scored a superb goal for the 6:5 win over a young Latvian team. Our conclusion from the tournament is that we need more consistency in our game. We have to play in a structured and disciplined manner. We did that well in the final period today and in the two previous games. That also gives us confidence ahead of the World Championship. The boys battled hard and gave it their all. We have gained a pretty good idea of the World Championship team and hope that everyone stays healthy now."

U16 claim tournament title

In the final game of the tournament, the team made a nervous start, were unable to build on their performances in the first two games and fell behind twice. However, the team battled back and secured the tournament title thanks to the draw. In overtime, the Italians were ultimately more clinical and won the game.

The team were able to rely on all three goaltenders throughout the tournament. From the start of the camp to the conclusion of the tournament, there was continuous development, both within the team and among the individual players. When the team play with full energy, a lot is possible, but their performance dropped off at times in the final game due to the workload.

U15 claim second victory

The U15 national team defeated Alps Ice Academy 7:1. This was despite being prone to errors in the first period and giving their opponents several chances as a result. Nevertheless, they were superior in terms of play and ultimately prevailed comfortably. They now face Team Bayern at 11:15 on Sunday in their final game.
