U16 National Team wins Four Nations Tournament in Fondo!

The U16 men's ice hockey national team won the Four Nations Tournament in Fondo, Italy. After victories over Hungary and Slovenia, the ÖEHV selection lost 2:3 to hosts Italy in overtime, but the point gained was enough to finish top of the tournament.

Austria fell behind early in the second period, but Ben Öfner (25.) quickly levelled the score at 1:1.

A similar pattern emerged in the final period. Italy took the lead again through Tobias Spacil, but Austria quickly equalised once more: Nico Koschek finished off a counter-attack following superb interplay with Tristan Schall to make it 2:2 (52nd minute).

The team coached by Head Coach Florian Mühlstein held on for the draw. The match went to overtime, where hosts Italy scored the winner to make it 3:2. The point was enough for Austria to win the Four Nations Tournament with seven points from three games, ahead of Hungary and Italy.
