U16 national team to test itself at Four Nations Tour­na­ment in Füssen

The U16 national team will assemble at the Red Bull Academy in Salzburg, where an extended squad of 46 players will initially prepare for the subsequent tournament in Füssen (GER) against hosts Germany, Switzerland and Slovakia from 11 to 14 August.

Head Coach Florian Mühlstein and his coaching staff aim to identify potential U16 team candidates for next season: "The aim of the training camp in Salzburg is to assess and test 46 players, see them in relation to one another and give them a feel for the structure of the U16 national team in the coming year."

Mühlstein, ÖEHV Head of Youth Development & Training, will announce his squad for the very strongly contested Four Nations Tournament in Füssen after the camp in Salzburg, where the focus will be on defensive work: "After the camp, we will reduce the squad to one team and travel to a very strong tournament in Füssen. With Germany, Switzerland and Slovakia as opponents, we will face very high-calibre teams that are used to playing at a very high level. The focus in the games will definitely be on work in the defensive zone. It is intended to serve as the foundation for our performance in terms of structure. Alongside implementing what we have learned, a proud and professional work ethic will be essential!"
