Hungary responded immediately, with Bertalan Joó levelling the score at 1:1 just 33 seconds later. In the second period, Felix Baumann converted a power play to give Austria a 2:1 lead (26). Hungary also equalised on the power play, as Gergő Károlyi made it 2:2. After their first win, Austria face hosts Slovenia in the finale on Friday afternoon. Head Coach Peter Schweda after the match: "It was not pretty ice hockey today, but a hard-fought contest that we won 5:2.
