U16 national team also beat Slovenia in Fondo
The U16 men's ice hockey national team is in Fondo, Italy, this week for three games as part of a four-nation tournament. After the 3:2 win against Hungary, the ÖEHV side also celebrated victory in their second match after 60 minutes, beating Slovenia 3:1.

Benedikt Hengelmüller (7th minute) and Rafael Wagnsonner on the power play (10th minute) gave Head Coach Florian Mühlstein's team a 2:0 lead in the opening period. Slovenia pulled back to 1:2 in the second period to make the game exciting again. It was not until Nino Koschek made it 3:1 in the final period that the course was set for victory (48th minute).
Goaltender Tin Kurelovic did not concede again, as the U16 side recorded their second win in as many games. On Saturday, they will face hosts Italy for the tournament title.
U16 Head Coach Florian Mühlstein: "We made a very good start to the game and quickly took a 2:0 lead. The team kept the pressure on in the opposition zone for 20 minutes. After the first change of ends, the game became more evenly balanced as we did not bring the same energy onto the ice as in the first period. In the final period, the team responded with another step up in performance, fought their way back into the game and earned a deserved 3:1 win."
