And they did so in impressive fashion: on 19 March, they celebrated a 9:4 victory, having trailed 1:2 for just under four minutes in the opening period. In the second period, they pulled away to 5:2 with a triple strike in 126 seconds and claimed their first win with the 9:4 result.

The following day, on 20 March, a poor start from VSV's perspective proved decisive in the 1:3 defeat. Jonathan Löcker and David Waschnig put KAC 2:0 up within the opening five minutes of play. Liam Oberrauner cut the deficit to 1:2 in the 39th minute, but just 50 seconds later Samuel Haberl was on hand to score for 3:1. There was no further change to the score in the final period, leaving KAC just one win away from the championship title.

They secured it last Saturday on Villach ice in the best-of-five series. The visitors had already wrapped things up in the first period, making it 4:0. Manuel Wadel stood out with two goals in the space of just nine seconds!

The score was already 8:0 after the second period. David Wohlmuther scored VSV's consolation goal in the 52nd minute, while Gregor Biber made it 13:1.

KAC therefore won the final series 3:0 and were crowned U16 champions for 2021/2022.
