U16 face test at 4-nation tournament in Switzerland
With Switzerland, Italy, Denmark and Austria, the 4-nation tournament in Kloten (SUI) boasts a high-calibre field. The games will be played at EHC Kloten’s home venue, the Stimo Arena, which has a capacity of more than 7.600 spectators.

Austria’s selection will face hosts Switzerland on the opening day next Thursday. Italy follow on Friday and Denmark on Saturday.
They also have scores to settle with Switzerland, Italy and Denmark. Austria lost 0:12 to Switzerland in Füssen in August, suffered a defeat against Italy in November and lost the semi-final of the 3x3 tournament to Denmark at the Youth Olympic Games in January.
Head Coach Florian Mühlstein: “We have a very young squad, with several players born in 2009, such as Emil Wagner from Sweden, who is involved for the first time. Paul Sintschnig is currently competing with the U18 at the World Championship Division IA. We have a difficult tournament ahead of us. In Switzerland, we face an established A-nation, with whom we still have a score to settle. I am curious to see how we have developed this year, even though we have a very young team, which should not be an excuse. It is important that we get the boys into good match condition and prepare them as well as possible.”
