Sit in a sledge yourself, glide across the ice with two sticks and experience the intensity of Para ice hockey: that is exactly what you can do on Saturday, 14 November, from 14:00 to 15:00 at Eishalle Dornbirn. At the official try-out, national team players and staff will introduce anyone interested, with or without a disability, to the basics of the sport. Equipment will be provided free of charge.

“We want to show people that Para ice hockey is about community and the joy of playing sport together. We are delighted by every person who takes part and catches the ice hockey bug,” says Team Manager Libor Fischer.

Two internationals against Germany

The Para ice hockey weekend continues seamlessly after the try-out, with two internationals against Germany's development team scheduled for Saturday evening and Sunday. The action gets under way on Saturday at 18:45 at Eislaufplatz Hard, before the second clash follows on Sunday at 12:15 at Eishalle Dornbirn. For the national team, the two games are the final dress rehearsal for the World Championship: “Our aim is to complete optimal preparation under competitive conditions in order to deliver our maximum performance in Mexico,” Fischer explains.

Then it gets serious: from 8. to 13. December, the team coached by Lucas Herrnegger will compete for a medal at the Para Ice Hockey Division C World Championship in Mexico City, at an altitude of 2.300 metres. Two years after winning bronze in Bangkok, the objective is clear: another medal.
