Successful Para Hockey Day Premiere
Last Sunday, the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation, in cooperation with the Austrian Sports Association for the Disabled (ÖBSV), invited interested participants to the first Para Hockey Day in Villach. For one hour, they had the opportunity to experience the fastest team sport on ice alongside the players and coaches of the Austrian Para Ice Hockey National Team.

Theory on the equipment, sledges and sticks, first attempts on the ice and a lively exchange to round things off – all in all, the initiators Martin Kogler, Para Hockey General Manager, and Libor Fischer, Team Manager of Para Team Austria, were beaming after the premiere.
"At the beginning, it was all about getting to know everything and not tipping over in the sledge. On the one hand, that was exciting to watch and, on the other, extremely strenuous for the participants. The most important thing was that everyone had fun," revealed Libor Fischer.
The participants were supported by two coaches from Para Team Austria and several players. The Para Hockey Day made it possible to reach new interested parties while also raising awareness of this spectacular sport. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and interest in continuing the initiative has already been expressed.
