With the final Strength Passport training course on 27 June in Klagenfurt, the ÖEHV's nationwide strength training campaign for our youth ice hockey programme was concluded.

The well-conceived concept developed by Walter Hable was presented in both theory and practice, with the highly committed participating coaches required to develop adaptations to the needs and requirements of ice hockey as part of a workshop.

The central idea behind the Strength Passport concept is to achieve high-quality movement combined with high speed.

“If the concept is implemented well in the clubs, we will take the athletic side to the next level,” said course director Gerold Maier.

In this context, it is now also time to dispel the myth that strength training is dangerous or harmful for children. Alongside developing full functionality, it is crucial for improving resilience and therefore preventing injuries. Another key benefit for our young players is that targeted strength training generally prepares our children for life – both mentally and physically.
