Sports Personality of the Year 2025: ÖEHV national team among the top three for the NIKI Award!
Austria's men's national ice hockey team is set to receive a great honour following the highly successful 2025 World Championship in Stockholm and Herning: ÖEHV's team, coached by Head Coach Roger Bader, has been voted among the top three in the "Team of the Year" category in the Sports Personality of the Year awards. The vote was conducted by the members of Sports Media Austria, the association of Austrian sports journalists.

The winners of the prestigious NIKI Award will only be revealed on stage at the LOTTERIEN Sporthilfe Gala at Vienna's Stadthalle on 08 October at 20:15 – live on ORF 1.
At the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Stockholm and Herning, the ÖEHV selection reached the quarter-finals with some very strong performances and finished an excellent eighth in the final standings with ten points from four wins – two of them after penalty shoot-outs – their best placing in 31 years.
