Simon Riecken to officiate in CHL final
Austrian referees are in demand! Hardly any major event or tournament takes place without them. This is also the case in the Champions Hockey League final, the Women's World Championship in the Czech Republic, the Men's U18 World Championship in the USA and the Men's World Championship in Sweden and Denmark.

"For me, these nominations for top tournaments are recognition of the referees' outstanding performances. At the same time, they confirm the successful path we have taken in officiating over many years," says Gerhard Schiffauer, Referee in Chief of the ÖEHV, delighted by the nominations.
On Tuesday, 18 February, Simon Riecken will take to the ice as a linesperson in the Champions Hockey League final between ZSC Lions Zürich and Färjestad Karlstad in Zürich. Julia Kainberger is part of the referee roster for the 2025 IIHF Women´s World Championship from 9 to 20 April in Budweis (CZE), while Andreas Huber will travel to Frisco (USA) from 23 April to 3 May for the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship, and Christian Ofner can look forward to assignments at the 2025 IIHF Men´s World Championship from 9 to 25 May in Stockholm (SWE) and Herning (DEN).
"The international assignments should also serve as an incentive for continuous development. From good to the best! I am convinced that our referees will represent the ÖEHV well at the upcoming major events and the CHL final," adds Schiffauer.
