Semi-finals in the domestic youth leagues

EC Red Bull Salzburg's dream of defending their title in the U20i came to an end in the quarter-finals. They lost the decisive game to Ujpesti Jegkorong Akademia 2:3 after a penalty shoot-out. However, EC-KAC and Eishockey Akademie Steiermark remain in contention for the title as two domestic representatives and could even set up an all-Austrian final.

The situation is somewhat different in the U18i, where the Bulls' youngsters can still dream of defending their title. They face EC iDM VSV in the semi-finals, guaranteeing an Austrian team a place in the final. There, they will face either Italy's Alps Ice Academy or Hungary's Ujpesti Jegkorong Akademia.

Based on the results from the regular season and the quarter-finals, Eishockey Akademie Oberösterreich and EC Red Bull Salzburg are considered strong favourites to reach the final in the U17. The Upper Austrians finished the regular season three points ahead of Salzburg in 1st place. The remaining teams were already some distance behind. The regular-season winners will face Eishockey Akademie Steiermark in the semi-finals, while the young Bulls take on Okanagan Hockey Academy.

The clash between SPG OHA/LAS and EC iDM VSV will provide fans and players with an initial "final". Alongside EC-KAC, the two clubs contested a three-way battle for 1st place during the regular season, which was ultimately won by the Red Jackets. These three teams are certainly closely matched, and the decisions could well be tight.

U15 semi-final schedule

What always causes a stir at senior level is not much different in youth hockey. The U13 semi-finals feature a Carinthian derby between EC-KAC and EC iDM VSV. The Klagenfurt side secured 1st place in the regular season and in phase 2. Their closest challengers were the "Rockit-Apfel" Graz99 Juniors, who face EK Zeller Eisbären in the semi-finals.

Two Carinthian clubs, as well as EC Red Bull Salzburg and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie, are competing for the U11 title. The final tournament will be held in Salzburg, while the final placings will be determined in the other two placing tournaments.
