Secure tickets for the home games in World Cham­pi­onship prepa­ra­tion

“This year, too, we have top-class World Championship preparation in terms of both quality and quantity. Our aim is always to play against the strongest possible opponents as often as possible. With Latvia, Slovenia, Czechia, Germany and Canada, we have once again succeeded in doing so,” and Head Coach Roger Bader is also increasingly looking forward to the World Championship preparation, which begins in a few weeks.

The campaign begins with a two-game series against Latvia, bronze medallists at the 2023 World Championship, in Riga. The team then first faces Slovenia away from home on 11 April before hosting its neighbours in Villach a day later. The warm-up games against Czechia immediately before a World Championship have become something of a tradition, and they will not be missing this year either. Austria will face the hosts of the upcoming World Championship on 18 April in Budweis and on 20 April in Linz.

The following week features World Championship runners-up Germany. First away from home on 25 April in Garmisch, followed by the home game in Zell am See on 27 April. The major highlight at the end of World Championship preparation is reigning champions Canada, whom Austria will host at the Steffl Arena in the capital.

While Austria's men's national ice hockey team plays its final warm-up game for the 2024 World Championship against Canada at the Steffl Arena in Vienna on 5 May, the handball team will be competing at the same venue a week later for a place at the 2025 World Championship. To this end, the ÖEHV and the ÖHB have joined forces and are offering fans a Ö-Ticket season ticket for both events at discounted rates.

For the red-white-red stars, the 2024 World Championship begins against Denmark on 11 May. The remaining opponents are Switzerland on 12 May, Canada on 14 May, Finland on 16 May, Czechia on 17 May, Norway on 19 May, and Great Britain on 21 May.
