Second test against Germany with fresh faces
Austria’s men will play their penultimate warm-up game for the 2024 World Championship against world runners-up Germany in Zell am See on Saturday afternoon, at 16:15 live on ORF SPORT +. Seven players are set to join the squad, with the World Championship team due to be finalised against Canada next week.

David Maier, Steven Strong, Clemens Unterweger, Manuel Ganahl, Lukas Haudum, Paul Huber and Lucas Thaler are the seven players who have been in Zell am See since Thursday and will join the entire national team in training for the first time on Friday.
“A few players are ill and will join the national team next week. The priority now is to integrate the new players as quickly as possible. They have not had any ice training for a week, so we cannot expect too much,” explains Head Coach Roger Bader.
With the updated squad, another important step is being taken towards the World Championship roster, which is also expected to include Marco Rossi next week. David Reinbacher is currently sidelined through injury.
“Find a way to win”
All players who have newly joined the national team are set to play against Germany on Saturday, Roger Bader: “Step by step, we are getting closer to the World Championship team. We produced a good performance against Germany on Thursday; now we want to find a way to win on Saturday.”
Michael Kernberger, Mathias Böhm, Niklas Bretschneider and Leon Wallner are no longer in the squad.
