It is now official: the Seattle Kraken will be admitted to the National Hockey League as the 32nd team! The NHL is therefore expanding again just a few years after the Vegas Golden Knights entered the league (2017/18), the league announced.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said: "I am very pleased to officially welcome the Seattle Kraken as the 32nd team in the NHL." A team from Seattle was already meant to become part of the NHL in the 1970s, but the project failed at the time. This time, the Seattle Kraken ownership group also includes Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
