Sabres St. Pölten celebrate shutout win over Salzburg Eagles in the win2day AWHL
Sabres St. Pölten concluded the weekend in the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League with a 4:0 shutout win away to Salzburg Eagles. In the European Women’s Hockey League, EVB Eagles South Tyrol remain hot on the heels of league leaders Aisulu after an 8:2 victory over Lakers Kärnten. MAC Budapest also recorded a 6:2 win against Graz Huskies.

Sabres St. Pölten claimed a 4:0 victory over Salzburg Eagles in the win2day AWHL. The Lower Austrians took the lead in Salzburg after just over two minutes through Tamina Schall.
However, for the next 40 minutes, the Sabres found goalkeeper Kristiana Apsite impossible to beat. She was only beaten again in the final period – three more times, all on the power play. The win keeps the Sabres close behind league leaders KSV.
European Women’s Hockey League
EVB Eagles South Tyrol celebrated a convincing 8:2 win away to Lakers Kärnten and remain within striking distance of leaders Aisulu. The South Tyroleans were already 3:0 ahead after almost four minutes and ultimately secured a comfortable victory.
Kristin Della Rovere scored a hat-trick. The Eagles remain five points behind in the standings, although the team from Kazakhstan has played three more games.
A day after their win away to Budapest Jegkorong Akademia, EC Graz Huskies were beaten by MAC Budapest. The Styrians made the better start and took the lead on the power play through Julia Klamminger in the eighth minute.
However, MAC turned the game around in the first period and eventually prevailed 6:2.
