Sabres cele­brate emphatic win to open win2day AWHL inter­me­diate round

The placement round will determine the seeding from which the three teams already qualified for the Final 4 will enter the Final 4. The Sabres St. Pölten made a perfect start with their emphatic win in Klagenfurt. European Women’s Hockey League

In the European Women’s Hockey League, MAC Budapest and EVB Eagles South Tyrol engaged in an end-to-end contest in which the lead changed hands several times. In the final period, the South Tyroleans took the lead through two goals from Kristin Della Rovere, but MAC turned the game in their favour in the final minute. Following Alexandra Huszak’s equaliser (59.02), Olivia Atkinson (59.26) sealed the home win. The Hungarians, now in fourth place, also moved ahead of the Eagles in the EWHL standings. On Sunday, the team from Bolzano faces Budapest’s second team, Budapest Jegkorong Akademia.
