Austria's NHL prospect Marco Rossi can resume training after suffering prolonged after-effects from coronavirus. As the "Vorarlberger Nachrichten" reports, the 19-year-old has been given the green light to start training by cardiologist Matthias Frick and will begin preparations for next season on Thursday.

"I'm happy that things can finally get under way," the Rankweil native told the "VN". The Minnesota Wild NHL franchise centre will initially work on strength and endurance, with his return to the ice planned for mid-June.

Following a Covid-19 infection, Rossi had to contend with after-effects such as fatigue, back pain and, ultimately, cardiac arrhythmia for around half a year. "My blood values are now within the normal range, and the ECG shows no abnormalities. My doctors have said that I am completely healthy again," Rossi said. What happens next for the young Vorarlberg native over the summer, and whether he will be available to the Austrian national team for Olympic qualifying in August, will be clarified in consultation with his club in Minnesota.
