Registration open for the KEHV Übungsleiter course 2026
The ÖEHV education and training guidelines provide for the so-called Übungsleiter training as the 1st level of coach education for both women and men. This training is a prerequisite for the next level, Instructor training (formerly Lehrwart).

Übungsleiter training has been standardised throughout Austria by Sport Austria (BSO) and the three specialist sports associations ASKÖ, ASVÖ and SPORTUNION. The theoretical and practical-methodological training is divided into two modules, with the first module serving as the foundation for all specialist modules.
- Module: Übungsleiter Basic Module
- Organised and delivered by one of the three specialist sports associations
- Basic Module 1 is offered at numerous locations throughout Austria – a detailed overview
of upcoming courses can be found at: Sport Austria website (fortbildung.sportaustria.at) – ATTENTION – we are working on an ONLINE BASIC MODULE, which will be delivered exclusively for our trainees.
- Sport-independent subject areas
- 21 teaching units of 45 min each
- Multiple-choice examination (1 unit)
- Attendance at a first-aid course
Registration for the basic course – information to follow (direct payment)
- Module: Übungsleiter Specialist Module
- Organised and delivered by the regional associations in coordination with the ÖEHV
- Sport-specific content
- At least 25 teaching units
- Practical teaching assessment (examination)
Upon successful completion of both modules, the Übungsleiter certificate will be issued.
This certificate can be used to apply for a licence from the ÖEHV.
The Übungsleiter Specialist Module delivered by KEHV will take place at Villach Ice Rink on 22 and 23 August 2026. Full ice hockey equipment must be brought.

Please note: If registered participants fail to attend or cancel one week before the start of the course, a cancellation fee of 100,-- will be retained (no-show policy). The course is limited to 20 participants.

Requirements: Minimum age 16 years, good skating skills
Please bring: Ice hockey equipment, training outfit, writing materials
Completion: Assessment of the knowledge acquired during the course, presentation of the certificate
