Register now: Sports Instructor for Disability Sport

The Austrian Sports Association for the Disabled is offering training to become a Sports Instructor for Disability Sport next spring. Participants in the training course will be enabled to support athletes with different disabilities and ability levels in relation to exercise and sport in disability sports clubs and institutions, organise courses and sports weeks, and teach them technical fundamentals in selected sports for use in grassroots and national competitive sport.

The training is aimed at anyone wishing to instruct and support people with disabilities in sport, such as activity leaders, instructors and coaches. In particular, it is also aimed at carers working in the disability sector, special education or integration teachers, educators, friends or family members of people with disabilities who possess the necessary basic sporting knowledge and motor skills training to provide support in sport. The course is open to participants of all nationalities and to people with disabilities, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. The language of instruction is German.

Registration is available ONLINE via the BSPA Vienna website by no later than 12 December 2025. For organisational reasons (accessibility of the training infrastructure, adaptation of the eligibility test criteria, etc.), any existing disability must be reported to the course management in advance.

  2. 10.05 - 16.05.2026, BSFZ Schielleiten
  3. 12.07 - 18.07.2026, BSFZ Schielleiten
  4. 02.09 - 05.09.2026, BSPA Vienna/final examination as part of the 4th module

Teaching takes place daily from 08.00 to 21.00. Attendance is compulsory for all teaching units.
