League newcomers KHL Sisak had dominated their previous three games in impressive fashion. On Saturday evening, it was the former bottom side of all teams that managed to stop the “Sisak Express”. The Cavaliers took the lead several times in this encounter – by two goals in the final period – but Sisak kept equalising and scored the leveller in the final minute of regulation to force overtime. Daniels Murnieks eventually decided the contest in the Cavaliers’ favour. Unterland were therefore able to move off the bottom of the table.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps celebrated a convincing win over Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan on Saturday evening, drawing level with league leaders Kitzbühel once again. However, the visitors from Sterzing made the better start and built a 3:1 lead after 13 minutes. Ritten equalised in the same period, took control thereafter and eventually prevailed 9:5. The defeat sent the Broncos to the bottom of the table.

EK Zeller Eisbären celebrated a convincing victory over their neighbours in the table, HC Meran/o Pircher. Zell controlled the encounter from the outset and eventually won 6:1. Philip Putnik scored a hat-trick.

SIJ Acroni Jesenice also celebrated a home win on Saturday evening, although they had to work hard for it. S.G. Cortina Hafro were already 2:0 ahead early in the second period. Jesenice only equalised in the final period before eventually securing a 4:2 victory.
