Ramon Schnetzer and Simeon Schwinger called up for the February Break

Austria's men's national ice hockey team will play a four-nation tournament in Copenhagen this week, alongside hosts Denmark, France and Norway. Following Dominic Hackl's injury-enforced withdrawal, Ramon Schnetzer has been called up. As has Siemon Schwinger, who can now prepare for his 25th and 26th international appearances.

The players travelled directly to Copenhagen at 15:00 on Monday, where a total of five ice sessions are scheduled before the ÖEHV selection faces Norway at 19:00 on Friday, 10 February. The four-nation tournament, featuring hosts Denmark, Norway, France and Austria, is made up entirely of top-division nations and will be played in a semi-final and final format. The winners of Austria v Norway and Denmark v France will compete for the tournament title on Saturday, while the losers will play for 3rd place.

The team camp in Copenhagen, including the two test matches, is the Austrian men's national ice hockey team's final get-together before final preparations for the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship begin in April.

Defenceman Dominic Hackl has withdrawn from the February Break at short notice, with Ramon Schnetzer called up in his place. The 26-year-old from Steinbach Black Wings Linz last took to the ice in ÖEHV colours at the Deutschland Cup last November. As did Simeon Schwinger, who has also been called up at a later stage.
