Quarter-finals: Zeller Eisbären beat Bregen­z­er­wald again – Kitzbühel trail 0:2

Master Round champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären battled their way to a narrow 3:2 away win at EC Bregenzerwald. Lorenz Lindner scored the game-winner with eight and a half minutes remaining. Luca Erne had previously equalised for the home side from Vorarlberg in the 46th minute after Zell am See had led 2:0 after the first period. The team from Pinzgau had won game one 3:1.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps also claimed a narrow 4:3 win at HC Meran/o Pircher. Ethan Szypula was the player of the evening, shining with a hat-trick. The Canadian scored for 0:1, 2:3 and, with eight minutes remaining, also netted the decisive 4:3 game-winner. Teruto Nakajima scored twice for Meran. The defending champions therefore also won the second game. The “Buam” had opened the series with a convincing 3:0 victory.

After SIJ Acroni Jesenice had narrowly prevailed 2:1 in overtime in the first game against S.G. Cortina Hafro, the Slovenians celebrated a clear 4:1 away win this time. The visitors took the lead as early as the fifth minute before Cortina equalised shortly before the end of the period. However, as in game one, the Italians managed just one goal. Gregor Koblar restored Jesenice's lead in the middle period before Tom Sojer made it 3:1 early in the final period. Jaka Sturm rounded off the scoring with an empty-netter.

Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan claimed the only home win of the evening. Having already been the only team to win away from home on the opening matchday (5:4 in Kitzbühel), they now narrowly prevailed 2:1 on home ice. Lukas De Lorenzo Meo gave the home side the lead on the power play in the 26th minute. The narrow advantage held until the 43rd minute, when Niklas Ketonen equalised for Kitzbühel. However, just 76 seconds later, Connor Sanvido restored the Broncos' lead. The Adler were unable to find another goal thereafter. Dominik Groh shone in goal for Sterzing with an incredible 54 saves.
